I am glad you liked it, did you get on their mailing list? They have some interesting things going on. They also have tastings that are pretty interesting with some cheeses you don't taste all that often.

Mailing list? I think I am going to have to visit. I always have a cheese plate at parties.
I love old milk and mold.

Default The Weights go down, and the purse goes up!!

Hey guys,

Remember Mike from Fullerton Bikes (guy on the Giant Anthem wearing the red jersey and shorts) who rode with us last weekend? He'll be signing up soon enough, but he wanted me to let you know he was very impressed with all of our efforts to get and stay healthy. So much so that he's throwing another $50 gift cert from his shop in the pot for 2nd place. We could push the 10-spot down to third, or do whatever you guys want to do with it.

Default New prize structure

With the donation from Fullerton Bikes, here's our breakdown now:

1st place: Winner gets choice of $267 gift cert. to bike shop of their choice OR the Santa Cruz Chameleon frame donated by Switchback if he or she is entered in the cash contest (if the winner isn't entered in the cash contest, that person gets the Chameleon)
2nd place: Gets whichever of the top prizes is left over
3rd place: $50 Fullerton Bikes gift cert.
4th place: Gets the 10 bucks caveman donated

Keep at it, everyone. Next weigh-in is just over a week away (Feb. 1).

Too bad I missed the contest. I was 227 and my scale estimated 36% body fat in December.

Yesterday I was 208.7 and 29%.

Shouldn't we make sure they are ok with the $50 gift certificate going to 3rd place. Fred said in his post they wanted it to go to 2nd place. I thought 1st place was getting the frame and the cash if they paid into it, I didn't know this had changed

Nothing like that, I just didn't know it had changed that's all. Besides I have no idea what I weigh now so I can't even feel cocky about it.

I floated the prize split a while back (damn, this thread has gotten LOOOONG!!!), and Sherry from Switchback (donors of the Chameleon) liked the idea of spreading out the wealth a bit.

Let's say a person wins the frame.... It would still cost them a bunch of $$$ to make it a rolling bike! Fork, wheels, front derailler, rear derailler, handlebars, grips, shifters, cables, headset, cranks, pedals, seat, post tubes, tires etc. - all cost money! Some may NOT have the available funds to even build it. That would be a shame!!!

Would seems to me the 2nd place money would be of more use to the person who wins the frame. Just an opinion...

*** If another retailer/shop "stepped-up" by donating a fork and/or wheelset to the winner.......
In that case, the 2nd place finisher should keep the money!

Any takers?
