In all seriousness. Went to Target and finally picked-up a scale tonight. Stripped down to my birthday suite and voila!...

Height: 6'0"
Weight: 211.6

Holy shiat! I thought I'd be right between 205-208. And that's with 1-2 rides per week for the last 6 weeks.
That's it, no more ice cream, donuts, pancakes, steaks and fried chicken for m me!

Given the fact that I drink a limited quantity of wine or beer or whatever whenever I have it, I am lead to believe it is not inherently addictive. I can count on one hand the number of times I was drunk in 2007. I actually wish I'd gotten drunk more. New Year's resolution 2008!

Some of us have addictive personalities. Some of us will become addicted to anything and everything given the chance - whether it be mountain biking, religion, dead cow or poptarts. It isn't the substance itself, it's the belief system seeking out the substance.

Crystal meth is a great example - that is some nasty stuff! Yet people are super addicted to it! Mind boggling. Whatever happened to balance? Why do people (me included) throw the baby out with the bath water? Most things in life that are meant to be enjoyed - not turned into weapons of self-torture and humiliation.

Default Good breakfast suggestion...

Okay, for those struggling with what to eat in the morning, maybe already covered but if not, here's a great one that's full of good nutrients and very low in fat.
Oat-Meal (not the flavored kind. Plain ol' oatmeal. I use Quaker-Oats) made with water and add Flax seed and crushed walnuts. No refined anything and lots of sustained energy because it's so slow burning. Believe it or not, tastes pretty good too. Throw in a banana and you're golden! It carries me usually through dinner time, minus an apple or a yogurt here and there.

Instead of Quaker, try McCann's oatmeal from Trader Joes.
The slow cook Irish oatmeal is best, but the instant is pretty good too. Had some this morning.

Just my 2 cents.

Switchback doesn't mind what you decide to do with the frame...1st or 2nd...just offered it for some extra motivation...you guys decide...no worries here...we will honor it no matter what! I think letting the winner pick is pretty cool...

I swear by the slow-cooked Irish oats - make a big double batch and freeze in 1-cup disposable tupperware-type containers.

Microwave, add milk/soymilk/HEMPmilk, sweetener, cinnamon, and the piece de resistance... dried "golden berry blend" from Trader Joes. Also ground flax from TJs. What would I do without that place?

My favorite breakfast of all time! Except I use flax seed oil instead of seeds. Unless the seeds are ground, you'll end up pooping those suckers out without getting the benefits of the oils. I also throw in a few sunflower seeds (no shells!). The walnuts and flax oil combo is GOOD!!

Another good way to eat oatmeal (especially if you don't like oatmeal, like me (the consistancy!)) is in a "protein pancake."

I usually just cook an instant pack of oatmeal but maybe I'll try the ones you all suggested. Then add 1 or 2 egg whites depending on how much oatmeal you use (1 egg white for 1 packet of instant oatmeal), mix and cook (I use my george foreman grill). It cooks great like a pancake! Some people add a mushed banana to it but I haven't much luck when trying to grill it.

They're sooo yummy! If I eat it for breakfast I add more calories/protein (albeit fat as well) with 1/2 tbsn peanutbutter. I bet they'll taste even better if I try the oatmeal you all have suggested! Thanks.

Sounds like something I have to try. I try to eat in the car on the way to work (I know, I know). I like oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc but it's not car-food-worthy. I'm going to try it tomorrow

Just a quick contest update: Everyone is officially weighed in now. Time to attack the flab!

Personal update: The scale says i'm only 2 pounds lighter since Jan. 2, but my wife says my face already looks thinner, as does my waistline. And these little things that actually resemble muscles are starting to pop up on my upper body, due to the fact that i'm lifting weights again for the first time in more than 15 years. My greatest discovery so far: I actually like going to the gym (been getting there two or three times a week for the past few weeks). Never thought i'd say that cuz doing repetitive exercise indoors always held zero appeal for me, but I find it really satisfying now. I feel foolish for waiting this long to get a membership. I can't believe how much more energy I have these days. I'm usually dragging through winter cuz i don't really care for night riding, so i would only get one ride in per week. The extra exercise is making a huge difference.

I totally agree here. My spinning class at 6am is the highlight of my day. I guess I'm kinda boring.

I'm bad with recipes, here's the one straight off the site I got it from: http://www.calorie-count.com/recipe/1268.html (but I don;t fry it I grill it!)

Try experimenting with the number of egg whites to get a good grilled pancake (one that doesnt fall apart or isnt mushy)

That's the whole reason I started eating them, they are quick to make (I usually just microwaved th oatmeal) and just grabbed one to go and eat in my car! Be careful with peanutbutter cause if you drop them (which I always do, lol) it's a sticky mess.

But soo good

I do the flax seed meal too.
Also-Measure a 1/3 cup instead of a 1/2 cup. You'll reduce your portion and wont miss it.

Allison, this one is for you...

#16. Worst Mexican Entree

Chipotle Mexican Grilled Chicken Burrito

1,179 calories
7 g fat
125 g carbs
2,656 mg sodium

Despite a reputation for using healthy, fresh ingredients, Chipot*le's menu is limited to king-size burritos, overstuffed tacos, and gigantic salads —all of which lead to a humongous waistline.

Make Over the Menu:

There are two ways to make a Chipotle burrito healthy enough to eat:

(1) 86 the rice and tortilla and request your meat, vegetables, and beans served in a bowl, or
(2) Bring a friend and saw the burrito in half.
