Default My First FS 29er

I would much rather be riding...hell, I have not even ridden it on dirt yet! Maybe tomorrow??? doubtful, but hoping. As such, no ride report to speak of yet but few pics.

Anyway, not that I care, but for completeness had it weighed at the shop when I picked up some pedals since I forgot that part and it was under 30 lbs!!! 29.98 to be precise on digital scale.

Thanks to Larry Mettler and El Beastro (from mtbr.com) for getting me my first FS 29er!

Specs are as follows if you care:
 • Frame = '07 El Rey, large, cosmic orange, heavy duty rear triangle w/quad bearings
 • Rear shock = Fox Float R Pro Pedal air shock w/ High Volume canister with PUSH factory tuning
 • Fork = '08 Fox F29

 • Stem = Thompson X4

nice! please post some pics of the bike with dirt on it (onoce you have the chance), something that nice deserves to be ridden 'til it hurts.

edit: p.s. methinks it will look awesome once black f29s become available, assuming you strap one on it.

thanks guys. looking forward to it. the 9mm thru axle on the front was a nice touch (bike slightly used) and El Beastro (his ex bike/parts) also ordered a heavy duty rear end which i certainly dont need but heck, with those wheels and ventana HD rear with quad bearings, stiffness should be good for a 29er

looking VERY forward to getting back in the swing of things with the STR crew!

actually, it all has (cept pedals which i bought yesterday).....it was a slighly used bike owned by El beastro. the beast offered me the bike with the WTB wheels but i upgraded to his I9 wheels that he offered me for an upgrade cost....i also did not go with the thomson post that came with it and the beast let me upgrade that too.....he had a Moots Ti setback (i wanted setback) he could offer me for an upgrade so that worked out well. he and larry gave me tires of my choice so i went with panaracers per burners suggestion. got a KILLER deal!!!! i am happy

I played around in the parking lot on one of those this morning. Congrats - that's a nice ride! Hope you'll post up a RR once you've logged some miles.

FS 29ers are ghey enough, let alone a ghey Turner. All I have left to do is unload the GheyFX. That might be my new years resolution. I am done with bikes made from companies who dont even have the competence to make them in house
