Trail PIMP.....

lameness...
out on a nice XC ride, about mile 12, started having some shifting issues in the rear... i attributed it to some mud and thought a good cleaning would take care of it... I was wrong. I got out of the saddle to climb a short and steep hill... and BAM. BAM is the sound of the rear wheel hitting the frame and me falling over. cracked the rear swingarm in half. frame is ~6 months old. Hope they warranty it.

That sucks! Looks like a pretty new bike? How old is that? Time for a warranty.

That looks like a pretty clean break... Close to the weld/heat affected zone, though.
Hope the warranty works out and sorry to hear about your break! |

The failure caused the need for the 'extraction of a sitting duck trespasser' long way to the 71 freeway by foot...

Another story to a manufacturer that starts with " I was just riding along".
You must have quads of steel to be breaking chainstays, congratulations.... You need to hang that in your garage as a warning to all the other bikes in the neighboorhood. You should be proud.

Better to break it climbing than descending.
Build it back up and try to break it again! |

My advice if you're looking for a new frame is not to listen to Mr. Pho - he will mess with your head until you dont know what day it is! Right Carl?!

You should become a card carrying member of Core Chiropractic in Lake Forest/Mission Viejo. Dr. Shane Doney. The doc is also a member of this site and avid rider.
They work on a few good athletes, the most notable being Brian Lopes. They have broken frames mounted on the walls and signed sports stuff all over. Thats where I go and where I hope to hang a broken frame some day.
