Awesome news! Hopefully, this is the last story we'll hear about Haro getting robbed. 2 years in a row now after I-bike.

Two men suspected of stealing a trailer load of high-end mountain bikes, worth nearly $50,000, from a Vista bicycle shop were arrested in a raid Thursday.

One of the new demo bikes was found at the suspects' home on Mar Vista Drive, and eight were recovered from a storage unit – leaving 21 bikes unaccounted for.

Sheriff's detectives serving the search warrant on the home also discovered signs of a small methamphetamine lab and arrested three other people living there on suspicion of manufacturing the drug, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

The investigation began Oct. 1, when employees at Haro Bicycles on Avenida Chelsea reported that 30 demo bikes had been stolen from a storage trailer outside their business.

The investigation led detectives to the home on Mar Vista Drive and two storage lockers at Emerald at 78 Storage on Huff Street, where some of the stolen bikes had been stashed.

“(The suspects) knew it was too hot to move or sell (the bikes) because there was a reward out,” said Vista sheriff's Detective Jason Vickery. “They were storing them until they felt they could get rid of them.”

The two suspects, 38 and 46, were jailed on theft and drug-manufacturing charges.

Hmmm....does anyone know if the guys caught were illegals? ; )

....if not, maybe they are all just busy rescuing lost, scared children from horrifying car accidents and then getting deported..........

Yay! very cool to see justice (ready to be) served. Hopefully they can now track down the rest of the bikes. Anyone know if the same tweakers have been named suspects in the previous year's hit that Haro took?
