I have the 770 SW and I believe the only difference was that the 770 could go deeper. I took it to Central America in October and the underwater pictures and movies were pretty good. Only limitation I found was the zoom. Naturally it won't be as good as some other point and shoot since the lens can't extend past the body, so getting shots of subjects in the distance were limited. Overall I found its a good camera that's compact and allows you to take pictures in a lot of different conditions.

Cool. I'm just looking for something durable to take on the trail. Thanks!

I have the 770 also. I think its a great beach & trail camera but like others posted not the "best" photo quality. I have several Canon's so it would take a lot for an Olympus to impress me.

I like the 770 because I know that if I drop it, roll over it, crash, etc. the camera will be fine. So as long as you don't think of it as almost SLR quality point-and-shoot ,you'll be fine.

Also you can clean the photos up in Photoshop pretty easy. Even Picasa makes a quick and easy fix up.

Thanks. I never even print pictures so SLR quality isn't a big deal to me. I just want something that won't break easy.

I have this camera. I like the 'non-shake' feature. When you're riding down the trail you can put it on that setting and take a pic without it being blurey. It's pretty light too. Pic quality isn't stellar but it's a good trail camera.

I have an older Nicon 775 and it takes very good pictures but it's to big and I leave it home all the time. Maybe with this one I will bring it on the trail.

I have had excellent luck with the Casio Exilim line of cameras. We have three of them. My wife and I both have the 10 megapixel camera. We take them with us everywhere, Peru, China, Argentina, Ireland. We have some great pictures taken around the world with the Casio. It takes ok indoor and low light photos, but outdoor photos are excellent.

I found great prices for them both at Circuit City. As good a price as on line only retailers, plus I could drive down the street and buy that day.

I had the 770 for about two months until my house was burglarized and it was taken. Great camera; the best part was seeing people's faces when you jumped into the water with it. And the photo quality was actually better than I expected, but I doubt it would be a great low-light camera. We used it mostly out in the sun and it took great pictures.

After breaking 5 different digital cameras over the past year (yes, my wife and I tend to drop things), this one really looked like it would take a beating. I think it would be a good camera to take on the trails.

Same reaction here. People thought I was stupid or crazy jumping into the water with it, then it was "Oh, that's so cool."

Major drawback to the camera is that it doesn't float.
