Back on a bike...

Parker is off the training wheels and ready for dirt!
The bike he is on in the photo will be passed on with training wheels to a friends son, Parker is already on his new Specialized Hot Rock 16". A great trick we learned from a magazine was to remove the training wheels, remove the pedals and lower the seat. Get him/her coasting for balance and then re-introduce pedals. Worked like a charm... Like Dad's racing background he is "looking where he wants to go"!

i posted in the other post but you literally live down the street from me...we live up in The Vistas and your street is our normal summer nightly walks with our family.
I'm going to try the no pedal thing w/ my 4yo son now that his big sis is riding sans the training wheels. But you can totally tell boys are wired differently than girls in general. He was going off curbs today without any prompting LOL (like his dad) something his sister would not have thought to do right off the bat. |

yep- the no pedals thing works like a charm....Looks like were going to have to plan another Kids ride...Maybe after x-mas.
.I just wonder with all these little ones getting off their training wheels how many will have shinny new bikes from Santa X-mas morning.Maddie will and it's orange, just like daddy's. Congrats! I'm sure he was very pleased with himself!
