glad to hear they opened it up......eventually!
I've been stalked up the B's before, it's kinda spooky. I stop to look around, the truck stops and "acts casual." I resume climbing, the truck follows, and so on until I go around a blind corner and wait her out. What upset me most was that she drove right by a group of hikers poaching Taco(trail name?) to follow me...

Not sure what is up with the gate...as to when it's legal to go thru or not...I do know that once you pass through that gate you are no longer in Santiago Oaks Park...that section of the trail we ride is on private property and is slated for development...I think the rangers open it so they can access the top trails with their mule that start on the other side.
So my rule has been when the gate is closed I go around and take the grueling climb that hooks up to the zipps..we have named it Anita's (?)..have to do lots of hiking...and if it's open I go thru it.

You should go to the trails meeting and talk about this!

Waldo took me for my first ever trip up the 3 B's & down Chutes today. I've never ridden in so much sand before. Absolutely loved climbing the 3 B's, but hated the amount of sand and depth of some of the ruts on Chutes. I'm guessing that in better conditions that trail's a lot more fun to ride. Regadless--sand or not--that was still some of the most fun I've had since I climbed back on a bike last year.

Boy am I glad I did not load up the fully rigid 29er, too.

Passed the ranger in his cart & not 2 minutes later we saw some poachers headed down a section that was clearly marked as closed.
