doesnt it have a gearbox or some internally geared hub somewhere mid-frame?

still BMW (brooklyn machine works) has always made fine machines

I've always liked their "meat mallet" shin burger pedals

no, they do not have the gear box. The jack shaft is only to keep the chain isolated from the swing arm. And it does work. I have the larger version of that bike (with 9 gears) and it has zero bob, zero feed back and is active on the brakes, off the brakes and when on the pedels. But it have one downfall, it's a heavy mofo.

BTW, is Brooklyn owned by Rube Goldberg? When you google his name, there are many of his works that look like this bike.

No, I think he is the guy that came up with that VPP idea. lol

I'm sorry to say that some rap star bought Brooklyn. It was a sad day when DOC turned over the keys.

if there is a gear box could you please come over and show me how to shift it?? lol

That's the reservoir for the shock.

The gear box is a great idea. GT uses is and it look a lot like this. But Brooklyn has been doing jack shaft bikes for years and years before the gear box was ever thought of. I had a guy telling me mine was a GT rip off once. It was kinda funny.
