Thumbs up The Homers have a point

There is a similar thread about how great a bike company rates on MTBR. However there are maybe a dozen or so posts on each bike.

Check out these ratings! Look at the 5spot......WOW!!!

http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/manufacturers/2739/

disclaimer.....I do not own a 5spot........I do not benifit if someone buys a Turner 5spot

Guess I'm due for a new bike, since the Burner now falls into the category of "Older Frame." A 4.72 average rating with 29 reviews ain't bad, but clearly I need to get with the times. I mean jeez, it's 4 years old already - practically a dinosaur!

Default One big problem...

... with susp bikes is the lateral play in the rear. This is exacerbated by the use of skateboard type bearings in the pivots. Witness your local young SC rider creaking up a hill. Then ride behind an aging Turner rider ... He (I) may not be faster, (certainly not in my case) but He (Me) be quieter, 'cause He (Him) am on bushings. They last forever by the way. I think I'll go exacerbate now!

Happy Thanksgiving All!

The Turner Mafia on this board does not need anymore encouragement. Christ! Where the hell is Dino Brown when you need him, eh?

or a Bullit, mine is pretty old and never a bearing problem. Never any problems now that I think of it.

I'm looking for a bike for my wife. Might get her a Homer bike. They are nice for sure.
