Default Transition Sunglasses

Hi,

I am looking at getting a pair of transition sunglasses, but don't want to spend $150+. I browsed the Internet and it seems that Nashbar has some that are around $50. Has anyone used these by chance:

They have a couple of other models that are the same price. I am looking to spend around $50-75. Can I even get a decent pair for this kind of $?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

i tried the specialized ones up at Cynergy a while ago and they had a "road" and "mountain" base hues with a darker beginning lens for road and a lighter for mountain. they worked ok, but i wasn't impressed. something like oakley's VR-28 lens just seems to work better for my eyes in all conditions.

but that's just my opinion...

I wonder how much darker they get from the clear. Are you looking for sunglasses that you can wear from evening to night, or vice versa? Because, that is what these look like. If you want something darker, for daytime, you may want to check out a few others.

I bought some that go clear-grey and orange-darker, but they are really only good for foggy/evening time--not dark at all. I know that Oakley has some darker lenses, but not for that price (which is why I don't have them)

Yeah, I was looking for something I can use during the day - from early morning (when the baby is asleep) to late morning (when I gotta head home to help out! ).

I have a pair of the cheaper Specialized sunglasses. I like them for mountain biking.

I also really liked using a kind of light purple-ish tinged Serfas lens for off-road. Wearing orange-tinted lenses makes everything look nice and green, though. (If you decide to not go with the transition lenses).

I got a set of these Performance Brand glasses.
The transitions work, but they don't get super dark, which is good for me. I was having problems with regular dark grey lenses, whenever I went under some trees. The trail lost any depth.
If you want dark, you most likely will need to stay clear of Transition type lenses.
By the way, my transitions grey lenses even work in the fog and indoors!!

Those are pretty cool, beats changing lenses! For the price, I say buy em and let us know how they work. We will let you be the guinea pig.

I'll either get these or a pair of Serfas Sike-out (highly suggested by a buddy of mine, had a good review online, too), which are w/ changeable lenses and one of the choices is photochromic. It only costs $60 or so. I'll check w/ Ladera Cyclery to see if they carry those.
