Default Where to buy women's MTB clothing?

My wife has been looking for MTB clothing and has been having a hard time finding stuff she likes that fits her well. We hit the Pearl Izumi outlet yesterday and she didn't really find stuff she liked expect for a few pairs of spandex with chamois.

Linda is particularly looking for knickers/capris for riding and comfortable jerseys.

So ladies, where are you buying your gear?

Thanks.

I would suggest REI. I don't really buy MTB apparel here, but they have a good selection (that way, she can try everything on). Also, they usually have a lot of stuff on the sale rack.

But there's nothing left when they bring the snow stuff in.

I get most mine at Jenson, Incycle and I like the Path's selection when I'm down that way. It's tricky ordering online. The fit and liking it once you get it can be hard I just gave half dozen jerseys away I never wear. Have her go on our ladies forum we have a few specific threads.
Performance down by Torrance had a decent selection when I was in as he said above.

Voler has some nifty knickers, but they're online. They are great to deal with, though, with returns and such--plus, they send out Tootsie Rolls with each order (sold me with that one)

Shebeast also has some great shorts. I know that Sand Canyon carries them; I'm sure others will voice up if they do--I thought Switchback was going to carry them, not sure.

www.teamestrogen.com has been highly recommended as well. Again, online shopping though.

If I were you I would check Dino Brown's closet. I am sure he has a fine collection of womens bike clothing.

I've got a nice collection from different bike shops across the SW US

Performance usually has tighter roadie style clothing, though there's nothing wrong with that. They usually have a decent selection of sizes/styles.

REI may have a few things, but it won't be cheap.

If she wants baggies, she may have to go with mens shorts. I wear mens baggies over women's specific lycra with chamois.

For online stuff, have her check out http://www.teamestrogen.com

My gf has been getting most of her stuff at either REI or Performance. She usually gets the stuff on closeouts and/or with coupons, so she's made some great scores. The trick is to be patient and buy the clothes when you don't need them (because most people don't need them at that time, which is why they're on sale), because later you will need them.

Oakley always has a womens baggy short available. usually made to be very slim and form fitting on the sides... just the way you girls like them.

They might even have some older dicontinued models available still. In some years the design and coloring was better than others.

You can check REI outlet online, they had some nice Sugoi stuff recently.

I really love Loeka - they're having a sale on their 2007 stuff. Their shorts are on the longer side, which I prefer. She can wear the shorts over a chamois or they just started making a version with chamois for 2008. Jerseys are looser fitting and longer length in the arm and torso.

Price Point has women's clothing as well.

Sombrio is a bit pricey, but really nice stuff!

i have a pair of shebeest knickers that i really dig. it has a removable liner/short that i like. i don't like the all in one short/liner. they feel too bulky and heavy to me. the shebeest knicker is nice and stretchy and the liner bike short is good enough to wear on its own and is pretty dang comfy.

We actually went there looking for stuff for her, but we didn't want to spend $80 for a jersey (and there were very limited women's selection and sizing).

We actually went there looking for elbow and knee pads, but they didn't have any in her size (actually, unless you're a men's large, you're out of luck). But fortunately, what's nice about surfcity's location is that REI is right across the street, where she scored a couple jerseys for about $15 each, and some nice long mtb shorts for I think it was $25.

I was sure my gf was going to love the pink and purple Mike & Ike jersey you had (I think that's the one), but she didn't know what Mike & Ikes were! Oh well. Have any Skittles jerseys?

Yeah, the Specialized armor is too big for me too. Here are some suggestions that might work:

1.) 661 Veggie knee and Chicken Wing elbow
2.) Troy Lee/Brian Lopes knee/shin
3.) Troy Lee T-Bone knee guards
4.) Rockgardn Ladies' elbow/knee guards
5.) I think Dainese started making ladies' armor
6.) Sixty brand youth elbow guards

Hope that helps! Good luck!
