The Path is not a SC dealer. Come see us at Switchback for SC.

I'm not sure the Path has Giants either. They do have Specialized

I am considering the Trance also. Two Wheels One Planet carries them, and the Lake Forest shop has a couple in stock, but none they will let you demo past the parking lot. I think Orange Cycles just off the circle in Old Town Orange carries them also, but I haven't been in there.

I like the design of the bike, but I'm a little unsure of its longevity. Some reviews on Empty Beer (taken with some skepticism) also question the durability of past generation Trances (esp suspension bearings). Then again, friends who have Reigns have pummelled them with few problems, so....??

Any thoughts of the redesigned Yeti 575? Still pretty light, more travel, and only slightly more expensive than comparable Giants.

I hope to replace my Turner Burner sooner rather than later, and I'm considering the Trance, 575, Kona Dawg, and the Turner Spot. I gotta get out and get demo-ing!

he speaks the truth. from what i remember when i was in switchback last year, their price on the heckler frame was a least $100 LESS than one of the other SC dealers in the so. cal area.

The suspension bearing problem was only with the first year trances (2005). At the time, Giant replaced those under warranty. Also, keep in mind that Giant bikes have a life time warranty on their frames.
