Years ago I would ride around the neighborhood with some kids who had built some jumps and drops where there was some new home construction going on. In fact it still is 7 years later. Anyways some kids (not sure who) had done some vandalizing, but I don't think it was the kids I rode with, we were riding one evening and a cop pulls up and because I was the only one with ID, gave me a trespassing ticket. I went to court to fight it without an attorney and the judge threw it out almost immediately. The construction site had not properly posted the "No Trespassing" signs. But it was posted, just not from all sides. I'm not sure why, but the judge smiled at me after he said case dismissed???

I looked up the trespass laws once and I believe you can't be arrested or have property impounded unless you are vandalizing property, stealing property or if you refuse to leave.
Chino Hills S.P.has been known to issue citations and impound bikes for riding at night or when the park was closed,i.e.,after a rain storm or high fire danger. In '05 when the park was closed well into the summer after the 30 inches+ rainy season, more than a few citations were issued as well as 1-2 bikes impounded from repeat offenders. - Lloyd

The guy was riding in a national park. He was a local so he clearly knew he was riding in a closed area. I've been there and all the trails are clearly marked. No sympathy from me.

Sound like what's been happening lately at Flightline with the runners.
