Beautiful Gitane! I used to know a guy who would have killed for that (and it helps that he's a lawyer).

In 2004, I convinced my wife to do the Vision Quest rigid.

When I finished (hours after her) she told me, "that hurt. it wasn't as fun."

My C5 and L5-S1 couldnt handle rigid! I am re-in-love with my hard tail right now but even that stiff's me up after a few hours. Not quitting it though! Ice is my best friend!

Oh so true. Like kids, even though you love 'em, sometimes you just gotta kick their ass. And sometimes they kicks yours. A fully rigid singlespeed usually does the kickin'.

No one needs to convince me I need more bikes! Oh, I just picked up a unicycle. No, I don't know how to ride it yet, but it is a fully rigid singlespeed!

I've been down rock-it through the rocky section on my rigid Niner SIR9 but I really have to concentrate on a good line. It's the last part of rock-it that kills my joints. All those stutter bumps at speed really rattle your eyeballs. Still I go back for more, don't know why exactly, but I prefer it over my FS.

I thought that I'd love to ride rigid, but after taking the cx bike out a few times, I've come to the relazation that it will not be possible for me. After 7 broken wrists and some bling screws still holding one wrist together, those days have passed me by. I can say it's a whole new world when riding fully rigid. It's not very forgiving and you really learn quick how much suspension does for you and how it allows you to get away with a lot more. So I'm staying cush.

Now I know how you feel. I just rode a rigid Specialized Rock Hopper today on the San Clemente single tracks. Talk about a work out! On the flip side I did get amazing traction and control.
