Default Bike Work Stand

Good Morning,

I am looking to buy a BIKE STAND. I have checked out several and have not found one I really like. Do any of you have any suggestions?

Also, I usually ride alone, but recently I have come across several of you in the CWP and have really enjoyed riding with you. Thanks for the riding tips and your local knowledge of the trails.

Two-more days of work and them I'm off for a week!

Take Care ALL !

I like my Ultimate BRS-50R Recreation Repair Stand. Can't beat it for $80 at Jenson, free shipping too.

Default Park Tools Prs-15

I have had three bike stands over the years. This is my last stand. It is SUPER sturdy on all grounds. Has replaceable pads where it grips the bike. Folds up to a good size. I have had it for about three years. I use it to wash/work on my bikes. Never a problem. Don't skimp on a bike stand!

i know it's pricey, but the Park floor stand is the best I've used. the only downside is the half-moon shaped tool tray doesnt hold a beer- none of the compartments are big enough. hmm- dremmel time!

edit: hugh's correct- dont skimp on a stand- you want something that can stand up to bb installation if it requires lots of torque. a stand that can deal with pedal removal would be a pipe dream, but I can't afford one of the pro workstands....yet.

Default Thanks

Thank you all for the info you have provided. My next question will be about purchasing ski boots at SKI DAZZLE in Decembar!
Thanks Again!

I have to second this stand, this is what I use and it fits right behind my door when I'm done. Seems really sturdy when I have my 30 lb. Jamis on there even on carpeting.

I have a cruddy little stand that just holds up the non-drive side chainstay. It's ok for the 15 bucks or whatever I spent.

My neighbor uses his hitch rack. I think if I get a hitch rack I'll save myself some $$$ and space and do the same.

Ethan that was my first choice(the single arm one)! But it does not travel well and does not sit well in the dirt. The PRS-15 was the runner up. And yes You can install a BB while on this stand...

I use two bar clamps that came from Harbor Freight

They're $3.49 each, for a grand total of $6.98.

Using large C-clamps, I clamp the bar clamps to the edge of my workbench, so they stick out about a foot. You could eliminate the c-clamps and just bolt the bar-clamps to your workbench.

The top tube of the bike is then placed nicely onto the bar clamps.

The resulting "stand" is as stable as a rock, the parts can be used for other projects, and most importantly, it doesn't take up a great deal of space.

the bb install has just always been a test for me of sturdiness. I've got the older version of yours and it's an absolute workhorse.

I'd be willing to answer and ski related questions since most people who know me consider me quite the ski whore/nazi.
