Good Morning,
I am looking to buy a BIKE STAND. I have checked out several and have not found one I really like. Do any of you have any suggestions? Also, I usually ride alone, but recently I have come across several of you in the CWP and have really enjoyed riding with you. Thanks for the riding tips and your local knowledge of the trails. Two-more days of work and them I'm off for a week! Take Care ALL ! |

I like my Ultimate BRS-50R Recreation Repair Stand. Can't beat it for $80 at Jenson, free shipping too.

i know it's pricey, but the Park floor stand is the best I've used. the only downside is the half-moon shaped tool tray doesnt hold a beer- none of the compartments are big enough. hmm- dremmel time!
edit: hugh's correct- dont skimp on a stand- you want something that can stand up to bb installation if it requires lots of torque. a stand that can deal with pedal removal would be a pipe dream, but I can't afford one of the pro workstands....yet. |

I have to second this stand, this is what I use and it fits right behind my door when I'm done. Seems really sturdy when I have my 30 lb. Jamis on there even on carpeting. |

I have a cruddy little stand that just holds up the non-drive side chainstay. It's ok for the 15 bucks or whatever I spent.
My neighbor uses his hitch rack. I think if I get a hitch rack I'll save myself some $$$ and space and do the same.

I use two bar clamps that came from Harbor Freight
![]() They're $3.49 each, for a grand total of $6.98. Using large C-clamps, I clamp the bar clamps to the edge of my workbench, so they stick out about a foot. You could eliminate the c-clamps and just bolt the bar-clamps to your workbench. The top tube of the bike is then placed nicely onto the bar clamps. The resulting "stand" is as stable as a rock, the parts can be used for other projects, and most importantly, it doesn't take up a great deal of space. |
