Default REI Hooks EC Up

I smashed my near-new Smith sunglasses in "the fall" at Bootleg, and REI replaced them free of charge. I didn't know, but I guess they're known for that sort of thing. Saved me 140 bucks! So, yay REI.

I'm a member of the co-op, and a huge fan, but I really wish they didn't throw out all of their bike stuff for snow season.

Concerning there bike stuff, it is easy for me to go in there...they have no bikes I want. Now every thing else....a problem.

Be sure to sign up for the their e-mails, they send out 20% off coupons. I used that to buy a new GPS.

Doh! I checked the "do not send e-mails" box on my co-op membership. I'll have to change that.

As I remember they give you a 10% off coupon for signing up for their e-mail adds. They really do not send out very many e-mails.

Great to hear...they are always good about exchanges, etc. Lord knows we bought enough stuff there this year with the Rainier trip! Looking forward to some BIG dividends...

Thanks for sharing this EC. I like buying from places that stand behind their products to this extent.

I agree, REI customer service is top notch. I think the co-op membership is really worth it.

REI's great for stuff like that. FYI, Smith also has very good customer service. Lifetime frame warranty as well as a crash replacement program. A pair of my Sliders got run over by a car. Didn't even have all the parts. They said if I sent it back I could have a new pair for something like 50-60% off. Well, the lost it (I shipped it with a tracking number so I know it was delivered). Since they lost it they gave me a free pair. NICE.

One time I was lost out on the frozen plains of Hoth and I had to open up my Tantan to sleep inside. REI shipped out a new Tantan well before the Imperial invasion.

I worked there (santa ana store) for nearly two years- the customer service is usually this top-noch....and if it's not, complain!

this was determined by corporate- we had zero control. the bike stuff is never shipped back, it's just moved around until all the ski/board stuff is gone.
