Actually bret i've been using the CrankBrothers Mallet C's the whole time I've been riding but after my fall at Aliso I thought it was time for a change.I never felt confident cliping in on descents so the consequence is my foot slipping on the Mallet C pedal. So now I dont have to worry about clipping in and I'm still somewhat attached to the pedal via the pins.Like my STR father Dino Brown once said,"All good riders have both clipless and platform pedals." I'm by no means a good rider but now I have the option of picking my pedal choice.

You are correct Jesse! All good riders have both clipless and platfrom pedals! My clips (Candy SL's) are on my workbench.... the platforms (Wellgo MG1's) stay on the bike!

What do you say we test the KONA pedals out this Sunday? Peter's Canyon!

Hey thanks, Sharky! i'll give 'em a call and see if they have my size! i have been looking at every bike shop i go into and looking non-stop online, as well. the smallest size i've been able to find is a men's size 7 which would be way too floppy for me.

I think project_d summed it up best:

1. 5.10 sticky rubber
2. setscrews for pins

To elaborate:
1. I use 5.10 Mtn Master shoes. I think almost any rock climbing approach shoe with sticky rubber should work pretty well and give you more fit options.
2. My pedals are Block 8 magnesium platforms. Seem indestructible, and I hit my pedals more often than I should. I switched from Crank Bros Mallet M. Setscrews are the ticket but are harder to remove on some pedals, especially after getting beaten and filled with mud.

Here's what I posted about earlier, best of both worlds. I just bought a new pair today

Clipless on one side and platform on the other.

I have those on my rigid bike. So, I don't have any dirt time on them, but I liked the idea so I bought 'em.
