Default SouthEast Cali, AZ, and NM trails

Anyone know of good spots for MTBing/camping in Southeast Cali, AZ, and NM? I'm looking for stuff that is relatively close to I-10 and/or I-8. Ideally, places that I can find a good ride then camp the night nearby or on-location.

Vail Lake in Temecula has full service camping and trails.

My favorite spot in SoCal is Hurkey Creek in Idyllwild. Nice camp ground and awesome single track trails starting right there that go for miles.

Default South Mountain!

I just came back from a trip there. There's plenty of places to stay in Tempe/Phoenix. S. Mountain is just a few miles away. Plus you can visit the Titus Factory which is right there and demo a Titus bike for free.

If you go check out Cactusbikes. It's around the corner from S. Mtn. The guys there are cool.

I also found some great places to eat around there if you want some tips too.

Default Hurkey Creek

Hurkey Creek is also good. You should be able to ride at night there too.

Default Phoenix

As long as it's not summer. Rode Friday at what I believe is Red Mountain. The desert is in full bloom right now. Check it out before it melts. Phoenix area is a fun place for both riding and after ride refreshments. Pic from Friday - As always, way steeper and gnarlier than it looks.
