Default Cost of a decent 29er sus fork and wheels?

I was wondering what it would cost to get a decent 29er fork, wheels and tires. I have a Zion 737 frame in hand (if I want it). I have a ton of extra parts at my house, but the only thing that wouldn't convert are the wheels/tires and fork of course.

Rigid fork or susher?? I think Sar Boats has a REBA he wants to sell somewhere around 3-400 Wheels like in the 26" size are really whatever you want to pay.... You can buy a set for a couple of hundred or you can roll the Kings with Stans around 8-900

If I ride a 18"-19" 26er, will a 17" 29er work for me?

Measure the effective top tubes of the frames.

Frame sizes are the same either way. It's not 26 or 29 dependent.

You can get a decent Bontrager wheelset for a good price. Justin has the Race Lite for race day, so you may want to go for something a little more beefy.

You may be able to pick up a used Reba from anyone that picked up the F29 and is happy.

You get EP, right?

If that doesn't work for ya, look at http://www.speedgoat.com They have awesome stuff for 29".

American Classic 350 disc wheelset $600

DT Swiss Classic 340 disc $675

Mavic C29ssmax 29er $775

WTB LaserDisc $500

Sun High Rider $275

Bonti Race Disc $350

Sorry, didn't look at the I9's

Reba SL new is $365

Fox F29 $700

White Bro's Magic 80 $600-$700, with free King headset

Unfortunately I think that deal is probably over. They had a sale up over a weekend, and had so many orders placed they had to call up suppliers for more forks. Though, I think they did have the sale up again once or twice after that, but that was a week or two ago.

They have killer deals sometimes. I got my Dos Niner, Reba fork and a Cane Creek headset (later sold) for $1k last November. Basically got the fork for free.

I picked up a set of delgado on xt brand new for about $200. I think you can get used reba's for about $300. Hmm... now that does sound so inexpensive after all.

that's a sweet deal for a wheelset- my 1st 29er wheelset (xt/alex td 17's) are still running just fine on the wife's Kona. edit: make sure the bearings are tight- some XT's seem to come a little on the loose side.

as an aside, and related to forks, i can't wait for the $700 fox to come down to $300 in a year because they're not selling and/or fox comes out with something better.

check out mean todd's wheelbuilder on webcyclery to get an idea of what a hub/spoke/rim combo would cost- that and email mean todd- awesome source of info on wheels and a damn fine guy (met him once, had two sets of wheels built by him)
