Is mtbj sleeping? Why hasn't he posted this?

Great shop, lots of knowledge and they support our local mtb community.

Location: Orange (on Chapman behind a Hot Dog place)

Owners: Tim and Sherry (also members of the Warrior's Society)

Haven't been in there lately, but I'd be there daily if there was a monorail--at least a freeway that didn't resemble a parking lot. HB is just a tad too far and I HATE traffic on the 55

Come on you guys, you all know the shop, Sherry and Tim! You can't let them slip through the cracks and off of the board

I don't think Jason posted anything because he works there. That would be like me telling you how cool I am. lol

That's been my LBS for years. I do agree with you other then one thing. It's worth the drive for me.

Haven't had much work done there recently, but their work has been great in the past. I figure the less you NEED to see a shop, the better their service is. I have a buddy who just took his bike there again and he's very happy. Switchback is on the limited list of shops who I will let touch my bike!

Thumbs up Good call Rach!

We are indeed lucky to have as many good local mountain bike shops in the OC area. Switchback, The Path, Adrenaline & The Bike Company to name a few. All of these shops have owners that are dedicated to mountain biking and put their time and effort towards this... we are so spoiled as there are cities that are lucky to have one good shop... just move away from here and see.

I have to admit that I don't get out to the shop more often since I live on the other end of Santiago Canyon Rd., but every time I go there I get treated like family. Thanks Sherry, Tim and Jason.

I've had work done at Switchback, on my bike and my wife's bike several times. Always a job well done.

When I cracked my rear wheel, Tim built a rear wheel that has held up through all kinds of abuse!

Agreed. Switchback is great.

I went there expecting to buy a new rotor and they just bent mine back for a small fee. That's just 1 of many examples of the great customer service they have shown me. In fact, this is the first shop that has actually called me when a part I ordered came in.

I so badly wish I could turn back time and buy my bike from them instead of Jax.

To share a few stories...

Reflecting on another post, that was negative (regarding a different bike shop); I had taken my bike in to be fixed...did something to the rear hub that so impressed Tim, he wanted to use it to train others (the entire cog set moved independently from the wheel in a swaying motion). It took some time to fix (though admitedly not long), but I was never without a bike--that very day Tim loaned me his rear wheel.

Also, and a biggie, they were there for my eco-days (face plant). When I went to get checked out in the ER (cause I'm a wuss), they took my daughter home and watched her until I got out. THAT is customer service, great friendship, total support and a wonderful bike shop!

(Limited post earlier, as I'm at work--sorry)

One of the best shops I've been too. The shop guys always makes it a point to stop what they are doing in back to greet and see if they can help, regardless of how slammed they may be.

Sherry (I think) also has always been extremely helpful and patient with all of my dumb questions.

Definitely a shop that I seek first when in the area.

Been there a few times. Nice people, decent prices. Plus, the bonus for me is the PCH dogs in front of the shop. Now, I may have to go to the shop.

I've been in there three times....Tim helped me once, and was very nice and I was overall happy they are close to me to pick up small things (I ride specialized so they are limited for me). The second and third time I was treated so poorly it was shocking, and the blonde lady was not only patronizing to me she was shouting at a staff member in front of people. The third time I was in there, I was with a pro road rider and she talked to him like he needed training wheels. We were both in shock. I'll never step foot in there again.

Yay for Switchback. Great people, great service, great shop. I wish it were more conveniently located for me. But they rule.

I live in Cypress and take my bike to Switchback. Not only do they do a great job working on my bike, it's just nice to stop in and visit with them - You can hang out, chat - listen to and tell stories - the stories everybody enjoys hearing about...they are the family you 'wish' you had with no drama!!

Love you guys!!

This is one of the only shops I have felt welcome in. Came in after a fast get-in-a-quick-peters-loop-after-work and without realizing I was covered with mud all over my face. Sherry just looked up and said "Someone had some fun"

Fair prices, and I really like the service. I go out of my way to get odds and ends from them. Being a Spec rider, I also am limited to choices from them.
