Default Bike Bling .....the shop (Threads merged)

I cam across this shop called BIKE BLING from an ad I saw in Mountain Bike Action. I was happy to see a new shop in north county San Diego, Escondido to be exact and had to check it out.

So I dropped by after work yesterday and found the staff to be friendly mountain bike enthusiasts, I asked how long they had been in business and the machanic said about twelve weeks.

Their apparel section was larger than most shops I’ve been to which was a nice surprises as well. IMO it’s worth checking out if you’re in north count SD.

Default Helpful

I was in this shop last week looking for a SS chainring to replace the one I broke. The staff was very helpful troubleshooting my issues and answering all of my questions. Check it out if your in the area.

Thumbs up

These guys are great. I drive over from Carlsbad-- very helpful, and their mail order service is pretty quick. Prices were all competetive, and by FAR the best selection of high end parts I've found in SD north.

Cool, I was wondering how that shop was. I had seen it in MBA as well.

I heard they were owned by BB - not sure if that's accurate, but it's good to know we have another good LBS.

I think I read in another thread that it was started by former employees of BB.
But not owned by BB.

Default Bike Bling = Great customer service

As of late I have been having a heck of a time getting my tubeless front tire to hold any air. Had a long string of slow leaks, bad valves and so on. It finally got to the point that my tubeless tire was also airless! I put on new rim tape and a new valve, no luck. Went to another shop and they sold me a Stan's rubber rim tape with a built in valve. NO luck, it would not seat properly...

I took my rim with the rubber strip on it and my tire into Bike Bling and asked them for help. The two guys working in the mechanics area took care of it in a matter of minutes. In less than about 5 or 10 minutes they had a new valve and re-taped the rim (no charge for labor) and I was on my way. They offered to put the tire on and air it up also, but I had to go.

Also talked to one guy about some new tires and he gave me some really good advice and info, without the salesman attitude, and seemed happy to do it!

I did not deal with Kerry today, but he was there. Yeah, he will work really hard for you and is always willing to order whatever you need, no matter how small.

On another note, I asked one of the guys if they had a small Troy Lee helmet I could try on and before I new it two guys were looking at every TL helmet in the store to find one. Good service!

I have been in the shop twice and I must say they are looking good. Kerry is very nice and extremely helpful. If you are down in the Escondido area, you must stop by his shop. He has some killer deals going on right now.

That is correct. Kerry and some others went into business for themselves. Beyond Bikes had some very bad reviews on mtbr.com and alot of complaints. It appears Kerry and his crew learned from those mistakes. I have been to the new shop and the selection is excellent and the crew is most friendly. They price match and the prices are pretty low. They have a large inventory of bikes built up for test rides. Great shop.

You got it backwards as far as who left for what reasons; all I will say is Beyond Bikes is doing a lot better now.
