We technically open at 11am on saturdays......but I generally get there at 8am, coffee in hand. If you need to come in early I'd be more than happy to help you.

Also.....don't forget....our shop road ride leaves at 8am if that's your type of thing.

Do you think you guys would have time to pull the crown race from my old fork, and put it on the new one while I'm there today? It's a King, and I don't want to do it my way and possibly jack it up. If it was for the value of it no biggie. Funny, with the Aheadsets, and Cane Creeks, I just wasn't as discerning with the way I installed/removed. But I give my King a little more respect.
Anywho, do ya have time?

i made my own crown race tool out of an 1 1/4"x8" nipple with a 1 1/4" to 1" stepdown. Just screw them toghether and slam it down a couple of times...

i also made my own headset press yesterday. it didn't work out quite as well, but it got the job done.

The only reason I didn't want to do my King was if I jacked it up, I would be needing another King crown race, as apposed to going and buying another whole headset for only 20-30 bucks. I haven't messed up any others that I've done, I just didn't want to take a chance this one.

So, I went to The Path today, picked up what I originaly planned on purchasing, and want to thank Tani and his crew. One of the guys took time to help with my wife in some test riding. It was great, he didn't just give her the bike and say have at it, he actually went outside while she rode around, made some suggestions, seat adjustments. Pulled another bike down, did the same thing. Took time with me to answer questions I had about front tire selection, and helped find the one I was looking for. He explained some of the shops policies. In all he prolly spent 45 minutes to an hour between the two us. All the while not trying to "high pressure sales" us.
This was my second visit to The Path, and my experience(s) were great. Our next frame purchase(s) will most likely be here, I just wish they were closer.
Saw the famous Dino Brown, he was his usual pleasant self, and introduced himself to my son, yeah he was pimpin' the IH while doing so, track stands and all..nice to have met you Dino.

Nice meeting you as well. When I saw you walking out with the FOX FORK- I'll admit it, I got a bit jealous! What bike will it be going on? How 'bout the other fork?

Hope our paths cross again- soon!

As for the other one, well, looks like wifey gets a sweet fork to go on one of her bikes..the FSR to be exact, should be a good match.

I was going to buy a new saddle, ( i- beam type) not sure who it was who helped me, but it was not in stock. He took down my name and number and added kore saddles (I -beam and others) to the list. Most impressive.Top notch service. I just remembered this.I see nice pattern, Adrenaline,Path ,Switchback and Str, just an all around great community. Support youre local LBS by using each of the good ones for what they have to offer. Also for those who dont know, Bannings bike is a very good shop!
