the Path is so good to me, I feel guilty when I don't buy from them, even when I find a ridiculous deal from a private seller.

My experience at the Path has not been as good as everyoe else's here. I went in with my friend to get him some clipless shoes. He's a big guy and wears a size 49. He wanted to try on a pair of Shimanos and asks an employee if they have any size 49s in stock, and he says he doesnt even think they make them in that size. (even though my other friend had bought the same shoe, same model two weeks prior here).

Not wanting to go home empty handed, he asks if they have a size 49 in any other model. Not even going to the back to check, the employee quickly answers no. (two weeks before this, my other friend had tried on a pair of Specialized shoes in size 49 here). The employee says they can order a pair for him, so he puts his name and number down, and they said they would give him a call in 4-5 days. It has been over a month, and still no phone call.

The thing that annoys me the most is that this employee did not even go to the back to check the stock. Luckily, my friend found a pair of Shimanos in his size at Orange Cycles in Orange. The Path does seem to have a large inventory, but customer service seems to be lacking.

I'd encourage you and your friend to come back down and give us another shot. We really do try to take care of every customer as thoroughly as possible.....but sometimes things do slip through the cracks.

If it was me that helped you guys(but I don't think it was) I'm really sorry.

Hopefully we'll see you again,

Default I'm happy with The Path

I just picked up my bike from The Path for some minor service I couldn't figure out how, and I didn't have the time to do myself. They did an excellent job and they did a way better job then I could ever do myself. I'm finding that I don't really have the time to do the service on my bikes myself, so The Path is the store I go to. And I live in San Gaberial Valley/West Covina. (I do work in Irvine, but lugging my bike out 40+ miles is still a little job)

I like the bike service at The Path, I think the prices are competitive and I think the employees are very helpful.

Everywhere you go, there is always going to be workers in stores that treat you with horrible customer service. Those employees don't usually last long either. I say go back, ask for Tani, Karl, Sid, anyone other than the person that helped you last time and they will treat you great.

I'd say your experience was an anomaly.

The last 5 pairs of shoes I've purchase were at the Path.
I wear a size 50 in Sidi's and a 49 in Specialized.

Shimano does not make a 49 (unless you are talking hiking boots with a slot for a cleat)

Impeccable customer service is what Starbuck's, In-N-Out and Nordstroms is for.

Beach cruisers, scooters, side-view-helmet-mirrors and spin-class shoes is what Orange Cycles is for.

Arguably the most complete, broad and current stock of high-end mountain bike frames and parts along with top-notch service coupled with a down home "how-the-heck-did-you-fit-all-this-in-here" vibe is what the Path is for.

Two of my friends have size 49 shimanos, so I guess Shimano only made two?

That was my first time at Orange Cycles, but they had what we needed in stock.

Thank you (Raul?) at The Path finally my bike is shifting properly. Raul it was fun riding my bike yesterday. No matter what weird gears I shifted to it worked. No funny noise or having to ride in third gear thru the entire ride. I am not proud don't need to be on my middle ring on a climb - granny gears are just fine. Anyway thanks for the new brakes now I must get used to having brakes on my bike. Looks like I'll be keeping the IronHorse it really was a smooth ride.

Thank You!

I must add to this post I spent around 1.5 hrs just talking 29er's with Sid down at The Path he had answers for all my questions about building up my bike so the order was placed. Then for the weekend I was given a 29er loaner to ride which was a Blast. This shop has the best customer service I've seen in a bike shop

Yeah, I really love this place. In the last 2 months, Ive got a new frame, my girlfriend got a new bike and two of my buddies bought new bikes there. The path is seriously the only place I have ever felt like a true friendly local bike shop.

So I know its late and its been about a week and a half since my first visit, but I have to say I was expecting a bit more. maybe I had some jax irvine vibes around me that the shop peeps didn't like.

I'd just bought a shock off of racinjason and needed to get some spacers/reducers that we didn't have on hand at my shop. It w
