Exclamation Jumping and Manuals 101 (newbie ride)

Just want to share some of the best, fun little spots to polish your jumps and tricks. Mellow encouraging vibe to build confidence for wilder things in the future. Focus will be on weight transfer, manuals, and the Bunny Hop.

http://bmx.transworld.net/2009/05/25...dirt-flatland/

Meeting in the Stater Bros Parking lot at Red Hill and the 5, fall back time will be on Sunday @ 10 AM since most will work Fri and ride an Epic on Sat so a nice mellow Sunday ride should be just the ticket. Group decides how crazy or easy to take it, ringers encouraged.

Please vote below for preferred meeting time, winner will be announced in 48 hours. If you miss out it will happen again or at least you can link up with a participant to learn the spots and practice at your leisure. Soon the way you look at curbs and ledges will be through the eyes of a Street rider .

Let's rip it up.

Would using clipless be recommended? or would platforms be better?

Lightbulb Merely Planting a seed that will need care to grow.

As far as gear just run what you got, or if you can choose go with whats most comfortable.

There will be more of these, so don't stress the dates too much.

I'm just sharing what's worked for me, hoping others will contribute so we can have fun with bikes together

This is not going to be strenuous at all, if the same people keep showing up we can kick it up a notch, but the terrain will always be safe and sane.

This sounds like a ton of fun. If you have zero skills when it comes to jumping, manuals, etc, will this be a good place to start?

I live about 2 miles from there. I have no problem stopping by and doing some riding. Are you proposing to do it this week or next week?

Cool, we're right near there. I'll bring the little dude Thursday, so long as he isn't too burned out after a week of race camp!

Thumbs up We have a tie!!

So the poll is closed with a tie, my weeknights are typically not open but since it's my Friday today I'll see who shows. Will also be at the meeting spot Sunday @ 10am to see who shows then and the larger group of the two will become a pseudo-regular thing, perhaps all summer.

Best parking is behind the 76 station, you'll see what I mean if in. No promises but pay attention and your eyes may open to the possibilities of Urban riding.
