The speed on that trail alone will use up your travel. You really get to hauling ass. Damnit, I want to go ride it this weekend now instead of The annual. Oh well, maybe next weekend.

well, to be honest, i only bottomed my bike out once, on the flow drop, and after that i added 2 clicks of hi and lo speed compression, and just ride it.
I'll play around with my suspension for a bit.. for some reason my bike was really bouncy yesterday, and wouldnt hold a line.. if you notice, i almost went into the bushes twice
I think i had too much air, althoguh i ran the same setup on sunday and had good results

Flow drop at Mammoth?

Have you measured your sag or anything to make sure it's properly set up? Fork & Rear that is.

Yeah, flow drop, i landed so far down that thing, that i bottomed out the fork.. not a nasty bottom out, just enough so i knew i had reached the end.
and no i havent measured it.. I just got it from giant, sat on it, looked good and felt good and so i rode it and have been happy. I havent really had the chance to set it up right, i'll probly do that at work friday when i check the bike over for the weekend.

oh, and the small jump at about 2:20, there was a lizard chillin right at the top of the lip, which you cant see in the video, but he looked at me, and then i soared off the left side of the jump, since he was hanging out on the left.

Good ol' nature. I've never ridden a Fox40 before. How does it compare to your old Shiver? or was it a dorado

Compared to the shiver....
i would never ride anything else
This was my dream fork, and considering the cost on it, i never thoguht i would own one for another 10 years..
Then i got it, and i rode it. WOW.
I must say thoguh, the rebound feels slower when you mess with it than when you are actually doing runs on it..
Like on the street pushing it down, the rebound feels on the slower side, even though i run it with a bit more rebound than most..
Are you going to fontana this weekend?
If i can make it sunday you can try it out, or if you can make the super secret trail on saturday, since i am riding there instead of racing XC i think.

I'd like to get out there this weekend. To your hood anyway, not necessarily Fontana. I could probably bottom out your fork on the first jump haha, I think I weigh a good 60 lbs more than you.

Im only 135, although im curious if my height makes the suspension work different than if i were 5'6" and 135.
anyways, we could pump more air into the rear shock and the fork may be fine for you, but we'll have to test it and see.
me and 2 of the guys from work, one of them being Chauvanist youth are going to the Local Trail on saturday sometime, ryan drives and the other co worker does not, so if you have a truck we could do shuttles... If not, we can find a way around it. We're hoping we can get some sick videos and pics though

anyways, im off to work.. you text? i cant quite talk on the phone at work, but i can always text

looked like he drove it into the ground off a 3 foot to flat. that would at least get into the last few inches of most forks.

props for bottoming on flow drop. you gotta screw up something fierce to pull that off with a tranny that steep

I say, go with 36% sag on the frame. seriously, if it's the same as my reign, it will kick ass

oh, and I would be down for rolling on bflo's hood on saturday

Looks like me and 2 co-workers are going to be riding at 9Am.
Meet at the parking lot, dirt lot, whatever you wanna call it.
If you need directions PM me. We'll have to figure the shuttle situation out when we get there and see how many trucks and vehicles we have.
