Default BMX on Friday 10/31

Just wanted to let everyone know, when I was there on Friday the Orange Y announced that it would be CLOSED on Halloween, Friday 10/31.

edit: Bellflower will be open on Thursday night. All closed on Friday.

How's Bellflower?
Do they have an under 5 practice like Orange does (I've got a 4 and 2 year old that can shred pretty good)?
I don't have a cruiser.. but would a Azonic DS-1 with a Bomber front end work OK on the tracks?

I haven't ridden BMX in over 30 years, but I sure would like to get back on a track.

Anyone from the SGV (Pasadena) head out there?

I have never seem Bellflower do the kids practice first but have only been there on Mondays. AS far as bike anything goes just need the ABA membership, long pants, long sleeves and helmet.

They don't have an under 5 practice, but the earlier you come, fewer people are there.

You can bring whatever bike you have to join in. Just stiffen up the suspension as much as possible. Better than sitting around on the sidelines, right?

Ok I asked today and this is on Thursday not Friday. Please don't try and show up Friday as it will be closed. Also I heard they do some sort of first timer deal, contact the track for more details.

1st timers can sign a waiver, pay $5 and ride. usual safety equipment rules apply. Long sleeves/pants and or elbow/knee pads, helmet. No pegs, reflectors, or other "un-necessarily pointy" things on the bike. I think they rent FF helmets, but they are not required.

BellFlower is extremely kid-newbie friendly!!

aside from the potholes...

but in all seriousness, thats a good deal for anyone who just wants to get out and try it out.

I'll probably just go to the loop for that though on thursday, so count me out for that.
