SocalTrailRiders (STR) is a dynamic community of people who have a common interest in mountain biking. This interest is a curiosity to some. It is a favorite hobby to others. And it is a life-long passion to most. Whatever the case may be, we all came here to share and enjoy this interest with other people and in many cases have created friendships that extend beyond riding.

STR first and foremost is a community of people. People who have not only have fun but also support each other, agree on various topics, disagree on other topics, and just simply love to ride. This website is the hub that connects these people and solidifies this community.

Most of the rides are setup by members. They can range from small spontaneous rides, to regular weekly rides, and even huge rides approaching 100 riders! Keep your eyes peeled in the Trailhead forum and the calendar to learn about upcoming rides.

Brief History

Born in October of 2004, STR began as a project to try and unite the Southern California mountain biking community. Although this project was the idea of and carried out by George Gonzalez, STR would not be what it is today without the help and support of countless other individuals. The growth of STR is almost fully contributable to the members of this great community who spread the STR love throughout their own network of friends.
